The entertainment industry is a tough market to break into, especially when you’re focusing on only one aspect of it. But throughout the years, we’ve seen numerous entertainers evolve their brands and businesses by creating their own products to sell to the public.
Here’s a list of a few celebrity entrepreneurs who have made tremendous strides in the industry.
Besides owning a great TV production company, Connie Ferguson also has her own body lotion – Connie Body Care. She launched the body care product in 2014. In 2008 she also launched her own fragrance titled True Self.
Remember when Kabelo Mabalane collaborated with sneaker brand – Reebok to create his Bouga Luv sneaker? This was quite a major move for Kabelo as he was the first kwaito artist to actually own his sneaker line.
Former TV personality – Nkhensani Nkosi is the founder of South African fashion label – Stoned Cherrie which was formed back in 2000. Almost every celebrity we knew back in the year 2000 wore a Stoned Cherrie outfit
Socialite and model Babalwa Mneno owns a salon and spa called the Barbiliscious Hair Spa Cnr in Rivonia.
Cassper not only owns his own clothing line but also has a store in New Town called the Family Tree store.
Azania Mosaka together with her business partners own nail bar boutiques known as the Miss Salon London stores which are based in Joburg and Pretoria.
Dr Malinga recently launched his own range of bottled water as well.
The singer has his own – Somethings Cooking By J restaurant and by the looks of things this restaurant looks like a whole lot of fun!
Tbo Touch also owns his own fragrance line Touch Femme for woman & Touch Homme for men.
Last but definitely not least, we have DJ Sbu with his energy drink Mo Faya.
