So What Happened To Zola

Towards 2010 Zola made headlines as news of him being abusive to his ex-girlfriend Garnet Maseko emerged. She would later take him to court for child maintenance.

He then made the headlines again when he failed to pay that child maintenance.

In 2007 Zola became the face of Cell C with the Hola 7 starter pack. His contract with Cell C was for 3 years.

When it came time to renew the contract Cell C did not. Perhaps it was due to all the allegations that surround Zola at the time.

Zola 7 show came to an end in 2010. The show did not return even though it was extremely popular. The show even went to Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique and Namibia.

Zola speaks a lot about piracy in the music industry and how piracy impacts artists.

He sold his home in Melville and moved back to the home he bought his mother in Dobsonville Soweto.

There is also many stories I would put under the fake news category such as “A demon strangles Zola 7 in the dark” and how he can’t sleep at night.

He still produces music under his label Guluva Records. There were rumours early 2017 about Zola joining Mabala Noise. However that seems to have fallen through.

In terms of the Zola 7 show. Never say never.
