What happened to Fifi Cooper


Refilwe Boingotlo Mooketsi who is popular known by her stage name Fifi Cooper is a South African rapper, R&B singer and television presenter. Heck she has even done jazz apparently.

Some Background

Fifi Cooper started singing and dancing at a young age of 8. She started her professional music career by featuring on Mo’Molemi’s album Rebel with a Pause.

In 2010 Fifi Cooper released a single titled “Chechella Morao” which enjoyed lots of airplay and gained her huge popularity in the music industry.

Fifi Cooper signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment and in early 2015 released a song titled Kisses. It was produced and also featured AB Crazy.

In November 2015 Fifi Cooper released her debut album titled 20FIFI. The Album was a success. She got 3 nominations at the Metro FM Music Awards in 2015 and won in all three categories. Best Newcomer, Best Produced Album and Best Female Album.

She also got 2 nominations at the 2016 South African Music Awards for Newcomer of the Year and Female artist of the year, but didn’t win.

Let’s start with some Daily Sun. They reported that Fifi Cooper and her Ex Notshi “Killer Bee” whose real name is Kabelo Oageng, are at each other’s throats. It’s alleged that Fifi sent Notshi messages bashing his new album. Notshi denied this and stated that he and Fifi Cooper don’t talk at all, due to bad history.

According to a Daily Sun source “when they were still together, Notshi was about to break through the hip hop scene, but was busy supporting Fifi. As soon as she blew up, she forgot about him.”

Back to the music Fifi Cooper has since performed on Idols, Coke Studio, MTV Shuga, South African Film and Television awards, South African Music Awards and Rhythm City.

Leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment or was she fired, because there were reports that she had been fired for breach of contract. This was also around the same time A-Reece and B3nchMarq also left. Fifi Cooper did say that it was all coincidence and not something they had planned.

Speaking to Drum Fifi Cooper said her leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment was more financial than personal.


She said “So one day I woke up and realised that I work all the time but with nothing in my bank account, while my kid is starving.”

Fifi Cooper established her own record label MoCooper Records and like a woman on a mission released her new single Power of Gold. Her album is said to be coming this year.
