American hip hop artist and producer, Kasseem Dean, better known by his stage name Swizz Beatz, may have left Mzansi but he has taken South Africa with him back to New York City.
The hip-hop mogul had been touring SA and was warmly hosted by Mzansi’s golden DJ, Black Coffee. During his visit, Swizz also met up with some of SA’s biggest hip-hop artists and even attended Da Les’ All White Party last weekend.
Swizz has clearly fallen so in love with South Africa that he took a piece of it with him back home. Taking to Instagram, the producer posted a photo of himself draped in a Maxhosa by Laduma garment.
In another, he promises to “return back home”.
But it is this video of one of his sons – whom he shares with singer and pianist, Alicia Keys – dancing to Sun-El Musician and Samthing Soweto’s Akana Mali that got us in the feels. The young boy is seen jamming to the hit song which Swizz says has been on repeat cause “that’s his jam”.
Mzansi is getting real international recognition and we’re here for all of it fam. Don’t forget to share your thoughts with us.
